Welcome to the Slowgeek forums. There are 3 main areas for now. A Technical Support forum for questions, feature requests and such related to the Slowgeek site. A News and Announcements forum mostly for me to announce new stuff, and finally this General forum for other geeky discussions.

It took a bit of manual hacking to get these accounts working. I did find a bug, so we'll see if the next batch can get through on their own.

Testing testing 1,2,3! If you can read this it all worked fine. Using Safari on a Mac if you're interested in that sort of thing.

And apparently edits work as well. Just as a side note, it took like 3 minutes for my icon to start showing up, so maybe there is just a delay of some sort there? I noticed you mentioned someone else's not loading.

As usual, I am in awe of your work here.

The Netherlands checking in. Managed to get here quite easily. Thanks rlerdorf.

I do miss a logout or is that my ignorance?

    Hi rlerdorf,
Slowgeek is looking really nice! I managed to log in, but I got a weird page of errors in the final step. I have no clue what any of this means, but I seem to be logged in anyway. It looked like this:

Error!: SQLSTATE[HY093]: Invalid parameter number: number of bound variables does not match number of tokens
    fatal_error(array (
0 => 'SQLSTATE[HY093]: Invalid parameter number: number of bound variables does not match number of tokens',
    )) at /var/www/slowgeek.com/model/forums.inc:34

Henk - if you go to your slowgeek profile page there is a logout button by your username, but it doesn't seem to work.

rlerdorf - I tried to use it to logout so I could see if I can get logged in again, and it didn't log me out, I'm still here.

When I closed the window and started a new session I was logged out, and now I have just gotten back in with my new password, and no error message. Editing the post seems to work fine

Both issues should be fixed now. The logout button works, and that SQL error has been tracked down.

Ok, now that the basics are working, I can start playing with some fun stuff. Like trying to embed a run graph:

    and now in Metric

    Did that work?

I just saw that you're going to be looking at the IE problems (less than 3 weeks until I get a Mac) but maybe this one is just me, so here goes...

The first line of each post is strangely hidden behind the rest of the text and is almost unreadable, though the rest of the post is clear.

Aside from that, thanks once again for all that you do.

Hello! First post I seem to be having a problem with the first line of posts and I am using Safari which is apparently ok for Snowcrash... any ideas?

RicC, you may have caught me in the middle of some fixes. Do you still see that problem?

I think I have mostly fixed things on IE now. It looks less pretty there now, but it is functional.

There is a script that runs occasionally that fixes all the renames.

Aha...good to know, in case I decide to go through any more identity crises! Oh, and just so you know, you'll find the next 10 weeks of SXD invites sent...but just to you and Leo. The others have to earn their spots with their dainty little feets.

Wow, this is awesome rlerdorf. After I claimed my account, it said I could update my weather station. Somehow it is back to the wrong one, how do I update it?

The system will tend towards the weather stations that supply current conditions information even if it means the weather station is further away. Yours is set to KRMN which isn't that far from you. Which weather station do you think you should be using?

According to the map KVAFREDE11 is much closer. I'm not sure why, but there is quite a difference in temps between stafford and fredericksburg.
Heres a link to the weather station http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KVAFREDE11
    Will that one work?
