I guess the title is brief and descriptive enough
Great work on the site by the way, the graphs are much better than the Nike ones...

It's when you click on the center button on your iPod to get your current distance and pace. And if you hold down the center button you get your Power Song, which will also be shown on the graph.
Oh, simple enough, I though it had something to do with the sensor or something. Thanks!
#1) Thanks VERY much rlerdorf for providing this AMAZING resource!!
#2) Has anyone ever found out the exact calculation used on a 'click' to provide the current pace?
Well, not actually the Einstein 'equation on the chalkboard' calculation (although that would be fun to see), but the parameters used to provide the click info.
For example, if a click reported a pace of 9:23 a minute, was that for the last 15 seconds? 5 seconds? 15 footfalls?
Thanks for reading this.
(I know this is a common topic... however I've never found the answer)
#3) Have you thought about, or has anyone approached you with the idea of porting your work into an iPhone app?
2) The Nike+ system uses 10 second samples. Every 10s it records an approximate distance and the click numbers come from the previous 10s sample, so the pace you hear when you click is going to be quite noisy since a single 10s sample isn't going to be very accurate.
3) I can't stand cell phones of any sort and refuse to own one, so no, there won't be an iPhone app coming from me.
Thanks very very much for the answer. It's cool to know how that's working.
& I defo respect your stance on cell phones. Good for you!!
Thanks again for this amazing resource... I'm so happy I stumbled upon it.
